About Rajen
Dr. Rajen Desai is a board-certified cataract and glaucoma surgeon with over 20 years of experience in vision research and advanced surgical care. He specializes in laser-assisted cataract surgery, premium intraocular lens implantation, and minimally invasive glaucoma procedures. Throughout his career, he has led and participated in FDA clinical trials focused on improving surgical outcomes and developing innovative glaucoma treatments. Dr. Desai is frequently selected to introduce new surgical technologies in New Jersey, reflecting his reputation for precision and consistently strong outcomes. He is also an invited national and international speaker on cataract and glaucoma surgery safety. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing photography.
Education and Certifications
Dr. Desai graduated with honors from Stanford University and earned his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine, including additional training in clinical research. He completed his ophthalmology residency, chief residency, and glaucoma fellowship at Northwestern University. He is board certified in ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of several national ophthalmic societies and has received multiple professional and teaching awards for excellence in patient care and education.
