About Lekha
Lekha Gopal, M.D. is a board certified Comprehensive and Neuro-Ophthalmologist. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
She has served at hospitals affiliated with SUNY Downstate from 1997-2021 as a part-time attending physician, treating patients and teaching resident doctors with dedication. She has also practiced under Ophthalmology and Neuro-Ophthalmology Associates as a clinician treating patients in New Jersey since 2007, and at The Eye Center in Somerset County from 2004-2007.
In her free time Dr Gopal enjoys spending her time with family and friends.
Education and Certifications
Dr Gopal Completed her neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at SUNY Downstate University under mentorship of (late) Dr. Arthur Wolintz in 2001. She also trained at SUNY Downstate in Comprehensive Ophthalmology from 1997 – 2001. Prior to this, she trained in Ophthalmology at M & J Institute of Ophthalmology in Gujarat, India after completing her medical school at the B. J. Medical College.
