About Alan
Dr. Alan Busby went to Wesleyan University as an undergraduate, and he graduated from SUNY Optometry in Manhattan in 2001 and also received a Masters Degree in Vision Science. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and focused in particular on the causes of nearsightedness. After graduation, we received a five-year K08 Research Grant from the National Institute of Health to study the causes of myopia in 2002. He published and presented multiple research projects related to myopia, and worked with one of the world’s most preeminent myopia researchers, Josh Wallman from the City College of New York. Dr. Busby was involved in both animal and human research, and continues to use this knowledge to help his patients today. He received a second Masters Degree in Neuroscience from the City College of New York in 2008. Dr. Busby left the research community after 2008 and began to work in a variety of clinical settings in both New York and New Jersey. Dr. Busby specializes in Myopia Control. He has experience with pediatrics, but has extensive experience with the elderly with over eight years experience as an eye physician consultant in nursing homes. Dr. Busby has lived in Bergenfield since 2004 and has had his practice there with his wife since 2015.
