Dr. Ahmad Rehmani is a fellowship-trained retina specialist who has joined the Retina Center of New Jersey. With a strong commitment to providing compassionate care, Dr. Rehmani brings his expertise back to the East Coast after serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he provided care to the state’s largest prison system and local indigent populations. Known for his excellence in teaching and clinical care, Dr. Rehmani has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and has presented his work at national and international meetings. Fluent in English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi, he is excited to serve his community. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, cheering for the Buffalo Bills, playing sports, and spending time with his wife and two children.
Education and Certifications
Dr. Rehmani graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Rochester with a double Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Biology. During his time there, he earned multiple awards, including the Percy Dutton Prize, a Lifetime Achievement Award, and was inducted into the Keidaean Honor Society. He earned his medical degree from NYCOM in Long Island, NY. Following two years of residency in family medicine, he completed his residency in Ophthalmology at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Queens, NY, where he was selected as Chief Resident. Dr. Rehmani further specialized by completing a two-year Vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist.
